Bye bye Backstrom

Well, one of my new favorite shows of the television season got the ax last Friday. Fox killed production on a second season of Backstrom and it makes me sad. Based loosely on a Swedish novel series, Backstrom was a Portland cop who was grumpy like Greg House, but had a hell of a supporting cast. As the brief season went along, the special task force came together like a family I got to have dinner with on Thursday nights. Rainn Wilson protrayed Every Backstrom and it was by far my favorite thing he’s ever done. 

It failed to catch on in ratings, it was unfortunately on a very crowded Thursday night in which all shows are seemingly on. Community languished here for years. 

I tried getting into the novel series but it’s very different and lacks Portland.  Oh well, at least I still have iZombie and The Blacklist.
